Banning Torture

Urge Senators to Filibuster the Patriot Act
House and Senate negotiators have agreed to reauthorize the USA Patriot Act and have left many of the dangerous provisions intact. Some senators had threatened to filibuster the Patriot Act if this happened, so it’s time to encourage these senators to follow through. Visit the People for the American Way web site to sign the petition requesting a filibuster.


Election Reform Still Needs Your Support
The 2006 elections are coming up in less than a year and reforms in the U.S. electoral process still haven’t been made, but the Common Cause web site has some things you can do to ensure a more democratic process in 2006.


Harold Pinter’s Nobel Speech
