On
Tuesday, May 23rd,
2017, a few USC4P&J members participated in the “Rome
Resists (Trump)” event organized by
AEPC,
Women's March and Democrats Abroad, on the occasion of Donald
Trump's first trip abroad and first visit to Italy.
Here
is the newspaper Repubblica's
account of Tuesday's event,

As
can be seen from
this video, Tuesday's (authorized) demo
was lively and tranquil:
The
next day, a handful of Rete NoWar-Roma activists attempted an
unauthorized protest, displaying signs, critical of Trump, along
the path of his motorcade. They were blocked by the police and
two activists were hauled off to the local police station, where
one of them, Marinella, was
banned
from Rome for one year, with a
“foglio
di via”.
The activist doing the shouting, Marco, was threatened with a
similar fate.
The name that Marco calls out
repeatedly, in this video, is Aldo Capitini, a man often compared
to Gandhi since he founded and theorized “non violent
resistance” in Italy.
