4th Anniversary of the
Invasion of Iraq -
Four Years Too Many!

Protest plus "Fax the Facts" fax blast
U.S. Embassy, Rome, Italy
Tuesday, March 20, 4:30-6:30pm

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 marks the tragic 4th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Across the U.S. protests, demonstrations, sit-ins and vigils will be held to call for the immediate withdrawal from Iraq. The message is clear:
4 YEARS IS 4 TOO MANY!

Please join us in Rome on Tuesday, March 20 for two actions:

  • a protest at the U.S. Embassy from 4:30-6:30pm, and
  • a "Fax the Facts" fax blast throughout the day from all over Italy.

The protest in front of the U.S. Embassy aims to inform the Bush Administration, via our Ambassador, of three simple facts that they seem not to realize: -- the war is destroying innocent lives: our kids' and untold numbers of Iraqis', -- the war is worsening our security, -- the war is busting our economy. THE OCCUPATION MUST END!

We have tried to convey these simple facts to Ambassador Spogli in seven letters sent over the past year and a half: he has never deigned to answer. And lately the top U.S. diplomat in Italy has been using his influence for anything but diplomacy, from the letter to the Italian government urging increased troop levels in Afghanistan to pressuring the Italian government to approve the new U.S. military base in Vicenza.

Fax the Facts: This time let's make sure he gets the message. During the day on March 20th -- from your home, office, or wherever, in Rome and beyond -- we're asking you to fax the Embassy with one easy click from our web site.

Anti-War Protest: Then in the afternoon, from 4:30 to 6:30, let's all be out in front of the Embassy with a megaphone so he can hear us from his window while passers-by, tourists and Italian citizens send faxes from a mobile station we'll be setting up there, to let the Bush Admnistration know that the international community has had enough as well.

More details to come on the protest and our "Fax the Facts" blast. In the meantime, if you'd like to get involved with the organizing for March 20, send an email to: info@peaceandjustice.it.
