End the War in Iraq!
No Military Action Against Iran!

Remembering the more than
1,000,000 dead in Iraq

Rome, Piazza Navona
Saturday, October 27, 5:30-7:30pm

On Saturday, October 27 for the first time ever there will be mass demonstrations in 11 cities throughout the U.S. calling for the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and no military action against Iran. People will march in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle as well as New Orleans, a symbol of our misdirected priorities, Jonesborough, Tennessee, home to one of the nation's largest depleted uranium weapons producers, and Salt Lake City, Utah, the only state where Bush's approval rate remains above 50%.

In Rome, we will hold a solidarity protest on Piazza Navona to support these demonstrations in the U.S., but more importantly to call attention to the over 1,000,000 civilian deaths, the 2,200,000 internally displaced and the 2,200,000 Iraqis who have fled their country. A nation where the saying “today is better than tomorrow” has become tragically popular.

Hundreds of “Remembrance ribbons” will be on display as a visual representation of only a very small part of the Iraqi civilians who have lost theirs lives as this illegal occupation continues to sow death and destruction. Tourists and passersby will be invited to add a ribbon with the name of an Iraqi victim.

And as the saber rattling on Iran continues, we will also call on people to sign a petition opposing any military action against this sovereign nation of 70 million people.

We call on U.S. citizens and our international friends to join us next Saturday as we call for an end to the war in Iraq and no military action against Iran. Please stop by to add a ribbon to the display and keep the name of an innocent victim alive.

If you would like to join the group working to make the ribbons, please get in touch. We can provide you with materials to make them on your own or you can join us on Monday evening, Oct 22 in Trastevere as we get together to make the bulk of them. oct27@peaceandjustice.it

And encourage your family and friends in the U.S. to participate in one of the regional demonstrations! www.oct27.org

Upshot of our Nov. 9th group discussion on current politics:

It wasn't the Russians that got us Trump. Or Comey. Or even the massive GOP election fraud. It was the DNC.*

To learn how to stop the DNC from delivering us another Trump, read Autopsy: the Democratic Party in Crisis.

Click here to sign a petition, to put an end to the sanctions against Syria - their only effect is to take a terrible toll on the population, causing them to migrate! And click here to see the video by the Italian Committee to lift sanctions against Syria.

Iraq Deaths Estimator
Did someone tell you that U.S. military intervention in Iraq was over? Not true: we're at it again. This time the pretext to drop bombs is "curbing ISIS" (which was created by the U.S. in the first place, to overturn al-Malaki in Iraq and then Assad in Syria, and is now out of hand. Like what happened to "our" creature al Qaeda in Afghanistan). And the death toll continues to rise...
Write your senators and tell them: "Enough! U.S. out!! Iraq has shown it can curb ISIS by itself!"
