"WE VOTE FOR PEACE"

Solidarietà con il sit-in di Cindy Sheehan in occasione delle elezioni di medio termine negli Stati Uniti

Sit-in davanti all’Ambasciata Statunitense in via Veneto

Il giorno 7 novembre negli Stati Uniti gli elettori sono chiamati alle urne per votare nelle elezioni di medio termine. Dal 6 al 9 novembre, a cavallo del voto, Cindy Sheehan e altri attivisti statunitensi organizzano un sit-in di quattro giorni a Washington D.C. davanti alla Casa Bianca per dire no all'occupazione dell'Iraq, no ad azioni militari contro l'Iran, no alla tortura, qualunque sia l'esito delle elezioni. E per ricordare al Congresso le proprie responsabilità.

Manifestazioni simili veranno organizzate in diverse città negli Stati Uniti e davanti alle ambasciate statunitensi nel mondo.

In solidarietà con gli attivisti negli Stati Uniti, a Roma, martedì 7 novembre, dalle 16 alle 18, l'associazione "Statunitensi per la pace & la giustizia" organizza un presidio davanti all’Ambasciata Statunitense per votare simbolicamente per la pace e in particolare per:

il ritiro immediato delle truppe dall'Iraq;
una soluzione diplomatica con l'Iran;
il rispetto delle leggi internazionali;
la fine della tortura e delle carceri segrete;
il disarmo e una forte riduzione della spesa militare.

Invitiamo tutte le associazioni, i movimenti, le organizzazioni e i singoli ad unirsi a noi per esprimere il proprio voto per la pace.
