March 8 – International Women's Day
SPEAK OUT AGAINST WAR

Rome, Wednesday March 8, 4-6pm
Protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in via Veneto

A call for peace: Women (and men!) Say No To War

March 8 will be an important day for women and for peace. In support of the international appeals by CodePink and Cindy Sheehan, women's movements and peace activists are organizing protests at U.S. embassies throughout the world demanding an end to the military occupation of Iraq. The largest of the protests will be held in Washington D.C., where a march will lead from the Iraq Embassy to the White House to deliver a petition signed by women all over the globe.

On March 8, International Women's Day, events will be held throughout the U.S., from Alaska to Hawaii, from Montana to Florida, as well as many countries of the world (including France, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Sweden, Pakistan, Egypt, Benin, Australia and New Zealand) and in Rome, Italy.

In the Italian capital, women's groups and anti-war activists are promoting a protest at 4pm in front of the U.S. Embassy in via Veneto. With signs, banners and chants, women (and not only!) will demand immediate withdrawal of all troops from Iraq and a permanent end to rape, torture, human rights violations, extraordinary rendition, secret prisons and civilian massacres.

For those who are wondering why a protest is being held at the U.S. Embassy in Rome while the Italian government has troops in Iraq, the organizers respond that Italy has by now become the 51 st state of the U.S. Cases in which Italian sovereignty has been trampled are numerous: the CIA kidnapping of Abu Omar in Milan, the stockpiling of nuclear weapons at U.S. military bases in Italy in violation of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, and obstruction in the investigation of the Sgrena Calipari shooting.

The protest will also be part of the lead up to the national demonstration to be held in Rome on March 18, the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq and International Day of Protest. (www.18marzo.unmondodiverso.it)

Upshot of our Nov. 9th group discussion on current politics:

It wasn't the Russians that got us Trump. Or Comey. Or even the massive GOP election fraud. It was the DNC.*

To learn how to stop the DNC from delivering us another Trump, read Autopsy: the Democratic Party in Crisis.

Iraq Deaths Estimator
Did someone tell you that U.S. military intervention in Iraq was over? Not true: we're at it again. This time the pretext to drop bombs is "curbing ISIS" (which was created by the U.S. in the first place, to overturn al-Malaki in Iraq and then Assad in Syria, and is now out of hand. Like what happened to "our" creature al Qaeda in Afghanistan). And the death toll continues to rise...
Write your senators and tell them: "Enough! U.S. out!! Iraq has shown it can curb ISIS by itself!"
